Convert PNG to PDF
Turn PNG images into a PDF — one file or a whole batch merged into a single, ordered document — without your files ever leaving this device.
How to convert PNG to PDF
Drop your PNG files onto the panel above, pick a page size, and press Convert. Multiple images merge into one PDF, a page per image, in the order of the strip.
Page size is the only decision. Fit image makes each page exactly the shape of its image, with no borders and no scaling. A4 and Letter centre the image on a standard sheet with half-inch margins and rotate the page automatically for landscape photos, so nothing is squeezed to fit. The preview on the stage is the actual PDF rather than an approximation of it, so what you see there is what downloads.
The document is assembled entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for precisely the things that end up as PDFs: identity documents, signed contracts, medical records, and bank statements.
Why convert PNG to PDF?
PNG-to-PDF traffic is mostly screenshots: proof of a payment, a chat conversation, an error message, a web page — captured as PNG because that is what every screenshot tool writes, then required as PDF because that is what the form, the helpdesk, or the case file accepts.
Converting turns one screenshot or a whole sequence of them into a single, ordered document.
Image quality inside the PDF
Images are embedded as JPEG at quality 92 inside the PDF, so a PNG is re-encoded on the way in.
For screenshots viewed at normal size the difference is invisible, and the PDF is usually far smaller than the PNGs were. Transparency is flattened — PDFs are paper-shaped, and paper is not transparent.
If a screenshot contains fine, single-pixel text and you need it forensically exact, keep the original PNG alongside the PDF. For every practical upload-form purpose, the converted page reads perfectly.
Choosing a page size
Pick Fit image when the PDF is a wrapper, and A4 or Letter when it is a document someone will print or file.
The distinction is about what happens to the whitespace. Fit image gives the page the exact dimensions of your image, so there are no borders and nothing is scaled — ideal on screen, and the right answer when a system just wants the file in PDF form. A standard sheet instead places your image on a fixed page with margins, which is what makes a stack of photographed pages look like a document rather than a pile of photos.
| Page size | What it does | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
Fit image | The page is the image — exact dimensions, no borders, no scaling | Screenshots, single photos, anything viewed on screen |
A4 | Image centred on a 210 × 297 mm page with half-inch margins | Documents headed for print or formal submission outside the US |
Letter | Image centred on an 8.5 × 11 in page with half-inch margins | Documents for US recipients and US-format filings |
Frequently asked questions
Will screenshot text stay readable?
Yes — at quality 92 the re-encoding is far gentler than the compression screenshots normally survive in chat apps and email. Use the "Fit image" page size so the screenshot is not scaled at all: the page takes the screenshot's exact dimensions, and every pixel maps one-to-one.
One PDF or several?
One. The whole batch merges into a single PDF with a page per image, in the order shown in the strip — which is what a multi-page document should be. To get separate PDFs instead, convert the files one at a time.
Does converting PNG to PDF reduce quality?
Images are embedded as JPEG at quality 92 inside the PDF, so a PNG is re-encoded on the way in. For screenshots viewed at normal size the difference is invisible, and the PDF is usually far smaller than the PNGs were. Transparency is flattened — PDFs are paper-shaped, and paper is not transparent.
Is it safe for sensitive documents?
The conversion runs as code inside your browser tab — the files never leave your device, there is no server copy, and the tool keeps working with your connection switched off. For IDs, contracts, and medical paperwork, that is the property to insist on.
